Hearts of Gold (Tongues of Silver)

W & mG Seal copyright Seal December, 2010.

A tribute to the ancestors.

With hearts of gold and tongues of silver
Their bodies worn with labour long.
Their voices rich with age-old story
Their lips were sweet with song.

Their times were torn with war and hunger
Their needs and comforts few
They were the keepers of the wisdom
The words they spoke were true.

They’re lying now in the quiet country
But their voices have not gone
We are the speakers of their story
The singers of their song.

With hearts of gold and tongues of silver
Their bodies worn with labour long.
Their voices rich with age-old story
Their lips were sweet with song.
